My mom checked out Wal-Mart deals today. In total she spent $8. She scored 2 full cans of Folger's coffee (Custom Roast), 2 packages of Kotex Light Days, 1 package of Mentos gum and 1 bag of Sun Chips. And all she used was coupons from Sunday's paper. Wow!!

Trying my luck at CVS deals..

My mom and I set out today for a CVS adventure. We really have no clue as to what we're doing at CVS - we basically just know that there are amazing deals to be had. Before you read any further, you need to check out CVS 101 here, courtesy of Couponing 101.
I think we did pretty good... I was able to score:
- 1 Shave gel
- 3 12 packs of Coke
- 1 Easter grass (for Viv's Easter basket)
- 1 Covergirl foundation
- 1 Covergirl mascara
- 2 cans of Pringles
- 1 Dove dishwash liquid
I got all of these for just around $22 and have $8 in ECBs for next week to use. So really, I spent $14 for all of this. I know I can get better at this and eventually not have to pay hardly anything, but I've gotta start somewhere right??
If you have any CVS tips, I'd love to hear them! I hope next week goes better!

$.24 cough drops!
I got this e-mail from my Aunt Becky and just had to share (I hope you don't mind Aunt Beck!)
It's 12:35 and I just got back from "Drug Smart". I gotta say this was the most fun I've had shopping in a drug store for a long time. Turns out my online coupon for Halls was for only $.75. However, with my coupon and 1pkg. of Halls in hand I gave them to the cashier. Immediately she looked at the online coupon with interest and with a bit of trepidation. When she scanned the coupon and it registered on the register, I noted an immediate sigh of relief from her. (From me as well!) IT WORKED!!! I only paid $.24 for my bag of cough drops. When she was putting my purchases in a bag I noticed she threw in a slip of paper along with the receipt. Guess what ... another coupon for $.35 for Halls cough drops... I can't believe how good that made me feel getting that small item so much cheaper!!!

April means new coupons!

Click here for new printable coupons from coupons.com. They are updated at the beginning of every month. If you've never done this before, the site will prompt you to install their "coupon printer" software. Just follow the instructions and before you know it you'll have access to tons of new coupons! (I think there's somewhere around 87 this month, depending on your area). Enjoy!
How I organize my coupons..
This is my notebook that I organize my coupons in. It's just a 1" binder from Wal-Mart with dividers for the following categories (I used trading card dividers (used for baseball cards) for each category because they are much bigger) and then added tabs to each section to flip through easily:
- Baby
- Baking Needs
- Beverage/Soups/Dressings
- Breakfast
- Canned/Boxed Goods
- Cleaning
- Dairy
- Freezer
- Grains
- Household
- Laundry
- Meats
- Medicine
- Paper products
- Snacks
- Toiletries
- Toothpaste
I'm sure I'll outgrow this eventually, but for right now it's the perfect fit.
